Bob Hurley (owner and inventor of Hurley International) created his enterprise in 1979. When he started up the enterprise he was just a quarterly "surfer dude" that wanted durable surf wear, a good look, and a good price. His wants turned into personal goals and those goals turned into very prosperous achievements. The Hurley clothing line is very popular with the younger generations. The 14-24 year old age bracket seems certainly influenced by famous musicians, surfers, and other athletes who sport the Hurley clothing brand. These famous people who wear the Hurley clothing are huge idols and American icons with great reputations in their field of work. Fans who look up to these people feel that on some level they too can perform success like their idols if they conform to "the look" and so in turn they too purchase Hurley clothing.
